has anyone gone throught getting their PPi back from the loan comanys ,i had my settled(well thought it was)last year for £1900.then i get a letter last month asking if i wanted them to re-look at it because they rejected one of the claims got a letter this morning offering £2500 apparanty the should have offered me £4400 last year ,i was expecting £500 max so i now have a smile the size of the tyne.

I was kinda mis-sold payment protection on my credit card a few years ago, the guy phoned me up and told me they would upgrade my account for free, I even asked if I had to pay anything extra a month and he said no. First statement comes and oh look I've been charged for it.

I never complained about it as it was only a few quid and I thought I'd better have it, finally cancelled this month.

Not sure if thats worth claiming for or not, tbh I should have cancelled it straight away but I was too lazy.

there are normaly three ways to prove you were missold,it was added without you knowing, you were told you needed it to get the loan or you wouldnt be able to claim on it if you needed to.if you were missold you entiteld to it all back compo and intrest

Ok, onus on company to show consent. Makes sense (given a finite period for claims, 5 years I think?).

Isn't that a bit hard to prove? Unless you have a written letter showing this statement.

if your self employed you cant claim on PPi or if your in the armed forces you cant or any job where if you go on the sick and still get paid. the loan companys dont tell you that and are happy to take your PPi money even if or self employed or somthing like that and thats what the FOS(Financial Ombudsman Service) is saying is wrong

Oh okay. Makes sense. I imagine a lot of PPI was missold given how hard companies have been pressing me to take up such policies on just credit cards. They will probably get away with it as I doubt many will apply for a refund.

Just ring up one of those adverts and they will probably tell you then and there....they will not waste thie time they are there to make money.

but it does sound likr u were miss-sold. just because you paid the bill does not mean you cannot claim.
