Not sure if this has already been posted.

As wee see the clocks haven’t changed from those in our previous article and Gigabyte card runs at stock clocks and has reference design cooling system which is, by the way, also uses vapor chamber. In addition, the pic includes the results of 3DMark Vantage runs with Extreme and Performance settings. If those are true then, GeForce GTX 570 outruns GTX 480 by proximately 25% in Performance mode and by almost 20% in Extreme mode. Considering the estimated price of of around $400 USD this should be a great alternative for GTX 480 as well as ATI HD 5870.

Most likely there will be other versions of the GeForce GTX 570 from Gigabyte with its own design cooing system as well as higher clocks.

Canadian online store NCIX.com listed one of its GTX 570 models at a pre-order price of $414 CAD (US $411). What these pictures also reveal is that NVIDIA's reference board design of the GTX 570 is exactly the same as that of the GTX 580, with just two memory chips removed (128 MB x 10, instead of 128 MB x 12); and the GTX 570 GPU configuration. GeForce GTX 570 has 480 CUDA cores, it connects to 1280 MB of GDDR5 memory over a 320-bit wide memory interface.

Compared to the regular GTX 570, that comes with a 732MHz core and 3,800MHz memory, EVGA's SuperClocked edition features a 797MHz core clock and 3900 MHz memory frequency.

11222 point in 3DMark Vantage with the Extreme settings and 24541 points when the performance profile is used

However, most of the reports available online specify that GTX 570's performance is about the same of that of the GTX 480, the two cards sharing the same number of CUDA cores although the GTX 570 comes with a narrower memory bus (320-bit compared to 384-bit).

This drop in performance is however made up by the higher core frequency and improved architecture, the GTX 570 also coming coming with lower power consumption, its TDP being rated at 225W.

Reference Card

The GeForce GTX 570 is supposed to be up to 20% faster than the GTX 480 and will consume less power than the former single-GPU flagship.

Yep £265 would be an amazing price. Im guessing we can expect around the £300 mark sadly.

Yeah, largely agree to be honest. Especially when 480 can be had for £276! :eek:

Can see prices come down even further on these to clear stock.

Why? It wouldn't make any sense since they don't occupy the same market range. GTX470 will only drop if GTX560 matches it performance wise and is priced in sub £200 region or HD6870 drops in price.

Why what?

And how would I know what would "make any sense". I'm not as clued up on GPUs and the pricing strategies of their manufacturers as your good self, hence my asking the question.
