Don't worry I'm not going to buy it, I'm not quite that daft..... almost but not quite.

My boss is selling it and Janet Street Porter used to own it.

Yes i want something fast with a stupid engine but I'd rater look for something like a Monaro that won't cost the earth to service and keep running! (in comparison)

I was tempted to run it till it broke for that price..... only for a second tho, i think the snow has put me off too, V12 RWD + Snow = Mess

thats a lot of car for a tonne, why not buy it then sell it for parts or spares :p surely you'd make some money on it :p

Has your Boss maintained the car well ? No expense spared etc ?

I don't think i would be able to turn down that Motor if I knew it's history was real good. Buy it have fun & move it on for Profit it's a win win.

Just saw the Needs Suspension work. :( Leave it alone then.

It's been his baby and is immaculate and he's maintained it well from what i have seen. I just don't fancy buying it and getting hit with some serious costs..... especially as my focus (bleugh i hate it) has never gone wrong.

He's MOT'ing it soon so we'll see how it goes!

he's offered me it then starts going on about how bad he'd feel if it broke. he seams to think the gear box would cost me 12K if it went...... i dread to think where he's been getting his services/repairs done at that price!

The 750i is just ridiculous. It is so complex that simply nobody wants them hence prices like this. Nothing on it is a cheap or easy fix and most independants have never seen one. The engine alone is a nightmare but you mention this one requires suspension work. Many 750i's are fitted with EDC - electronic damper control - which is also eyewateringly expensive. 4 figures to renew the suspension properly, and I dont mean £1001.

i know it's a ridiculous car with soooo much to go wrong.... come on who has electric head rests in a 1996 car?!? or a 2010 car for that matter!

my boss has had it for 10 years i think he's thinking of having something newer!

^ Do that!

And £1k?! Surely you could sell the engine alone for that.

Tomorrow Never Dies...doesn't that make you want it more?

My focus only gets 22MPG round town driving at 30mph in 4th!

i don't mind putting fuel in if it goes fast but the focus is zzzzzzz

You could easily break it for upwards of £3,000. I'd most certainly buy it and run it for a month or so.

Just to say I have. V12, mmmmmmmm.

I doubt it - there are numerous complete 750i's for much less than £3k. It isnt worth £3k in bits, a lot of the expensive bits are unique to the 750i and there is hardly a huge market for spare parts.

Buy it, run it, if it breaks bin it. You lost a max of 1k.. it's not like if it throws a massive bill you are going to be forced into paying it! :p
