This year the 26th december is NOT Boxing Day

I'd spotted this myself elsewhere.

In the past if Boxing Day falls on a Sunday it's been called 'Xmas Sunday' with 'Boxing Day' then occurring on the Monday. That's certainly how it was last time it fell a few years ago.

Unless something's changed? People publishing stuff got it wrong? Or just pressure from retailers to start their sales.

Edit:

According to Wikipedia, the above is correct, however it's fallen out of fashion.

Odd because the last one wasn't that long ago really.

:eek::eek: OMG they didn't!! I don't believe it!! They did?! Have you called the police? British society is crumbling before our eyes people - BOXING DAY IS NOT ON A SUNDAY!!! How can we get this so wrong!! All of the calendars are incorrect!! This is disasterous!!!

On a more serious note...

Who cares, Boxing Day is always the day after Christmas Day.

Agreed. I've always seen it as the day after Christmas Day.

Does it really matter? We get Monday and Tuesday off work anyway :p

What would all the shops having Boxing Day sales do? Change their signs to "It's not really Boxing Day sale"

I can see that this forum doesn't care about tradition, which is sad.
