does anyone use this service?

just looking at renting some 360 games want to know if they are a safe option?

don't think this marks them as a competitor....

I used to use them and recommend them all the time but lately the service seemed to go downhill for me so I'm using Lovefilm now. They're still a safe option but I was experiencing long delays in receiving new games.

hmmm... does the lovefilm chap option allow for game rental? do you get new games early enough? i think its about £3.99 option per month...

thanks

boomberang have become much faster taking money from your credit card then sending out games to you. lately waiting time is anywhere from seven days to two weeks. if you're lucky you might get three games in a month depending on a package

I use boomerang and am a priority one customer which is a joke, as I waited over a week for any game on my top 5 list.

Need for speed Hot Pursuit
Assassins Creed Brother Hood
Enslaved
Medal of Honor

They told me that every game on my list was unavailable as none had been returned yet, I had to get a game off the list just to get a rental in for the weekend just gone.

I think there service is pritty crap to be honest, When you get a game sent to you, it turns up next day but when you return it. It always arrives 2 days later apparently, even tho they say it's first class both ways.

Boomerang are very good for me, just one game a month package but from sending back to getting a new one is maybe 3 or 4 days.

I used Boomerang for many months, their £3.50 service was just right for me.
I recently shifted over to Lovefilm, purely because I did a 30 day free trial for the promotional amazon voucher, then when that ran out found a 3 months for the price of one 'welcome back' voucher.
I used that on Lovefilm's £10.99 package, which boils down to £3.66 per month, and I get unlimited discs (one at a time), plus unlimited online film viewing via my PS3.
I'll probably go back to Boomerang once that 3 month deal is up, unless I find another 'welcome back' code to use.

In regards to Boomerang generally though, I thought their service was fair, I like how their list works and you can tailor it to suit you.
I was always a top 3 man, I don't mind waiting a few extra days to get the game I really want.

Pro tip: You can sometimes pick up epic bargains on the Boomerang used game store

I wouldn't give lovefilm a penny purely for the fact that one of their pimps cornered me in a shopping centre and used my politeness against me for almost 5 whole minutes, more or less physically forcing me to enter incorrect details into a laptop.
"Have you got a credit card on you? We can do this now"
"nah, I don't have a credit card. I've just got a-"
"Open your wallet. Let me have a look"

Boomerang are absolutely tripe at the moment. But I think in part it's due to bad weather and Royal Mail. I had a disc sent two weeks ago that never arrived. I sent two back last Monday and they've not been received. I'd wait until after Christmas before signing up now.

Another vote for lovefilm here. I've been with them for a good few months now and usually get my 'top priority' titles each month, although I haven't had a new release in a couple of months now which is getting me a bit miffed as I have the £10.99 a month option - (1 game at a time, unlimited amount per month) which isn't exactly cheap.

I've heard that their priority is to people on trials They make sure that they get the games they're after. Once you've paid, you're no longer top priority.
With services like this, you'd probably be better off just buying games, playing them and then putting them on ebay.

Awful service from me had 10 games in my list and it took them over a week to send anything out. When i complained they basicly told me to go elsewhere if i was not happy so i did. I use Lovefilm now and although not perfect they generally offer a better service for me.

Start a trial with these on last Friday (3rd). It is now 8th and as yet nothing has been sent out.. Even though their T&C's for the trial state you should hopefully get to test 3 titles...doubt i'll even see one. (Placed 8 titles in queue).

Going to cancel and try someone else. It's not good offering a trial and then under delivering, like thats going to make anyone splash the cash with them.

I'll reiterate my experience as there's so much negativity.

Since I spent a week waiting for something to be sent out on the trial, I've had no problems with them. I had 2 days a couple of weeks ago with no movement, but I tweeted @boomerangrentals and the next thing I knew something had been dispatched.

When I was with them a month or two ago I even paid to go onto the priority service, I then sent an email asking where my games were and was told I'd be given more priority. It still took an age to get anything so I cancelled. Oh an I had 30+ games on my list and had set it to anything from my top 10 so surely there was something there I could have been sent as the games in my top 10 weren't all recent releases.

I never have more than 3 or 4, and in some cases just 1.
