Apple tv and jailbreaking

Hi guys,

Im considering getting a apple tv to try and solve my sharing problem ive got at the moment.

The problem i have is that i have a HTPC in the front room and its on a network so that i can share the files on it to my mac. I have a monitor in the bedroom that i would like to watch all the files on rather than on the laptop.

So i was considering getting some sort of box to recieve the files rather than plugging my laptop into it all the time.

Soooo my question is, if i get a apple tv and jailbreak it, would it work for streaming files from my pc to the box itself?

The 2nd Gen Apple TV doesn't as yet (I think) have a working Jailbreak.

ATVFlash are working on a version of their software. Keep an eye out on that.

However, if your content us in iTunes you don't need to jailbreak. If it isn't use Hanbrke to convert it. That's what I'm doing...
