ATI 6850 Problems

I'm having some problems with a PC i've built with a HIS ATI 6850 card in it.

This is the complete spec:
HIS ATI Radeon HD 6850 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
Intel Core i5 760 2.80GHz (Lynnfield) (Socket LGA1156)
Asus P7P55D-E Intel P55 (Socket 1156) DDR3 Motherboard
Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit
Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB SATA-II 32MB Cache
Antec High Current Gamer 520W Power Supply

The problem seems to be the graphics card or the graphics drivers.

I'm running Windows 7 64bit and everything seems to work fine on the desktop if using the inbuilt windows drivers the problems start with the ATI drivers.

If I install the ATI drivers (tried the latest Catalyst 10.10e versions aswel as old versions and even the hotfix version) but in all cases I get random things happening.

• 
  Sometimes the PC will not even boot up its gets as far as loading the desktop and then just hangs on a black screen until you manually reboot it.

• 
  Sometimes its gets to the desktop and is all fuzzy and I have to reboot again.

• 
  If It gets to the desktop ok its then fine on the desktop and just in 2d mode eg web browsing etc.

• 
  If I try to load a game up eg Medal of Honour I get things like on the Menu of the game the screen splits into 2 screens or goes fuzzy straight away and I have to reboot.

I have tried doing a clean install of Windows but get the same problems as soon as I put the ATI drivers on, do you think my card is faulty or is there some conflict I might be missing

Im using 2 of these cards with windows 7 64bit and the 10.10e drivers with no issues.

Have you got a spare graphics card you can try in the new build ?

10.11 is out now, you could see if that makes a difference.

Although mr Abitar states he has no problems with 10.10e but surely worth a try. Whats the card like in games/3D mode with the windows drivers!?

Thats my next move get another card to try in it and try this card in another rig.

I saw 10.11 were out but on the download page it said that the 68xx series weren't supported

Thats right the 10.11 are not supported so your stuck with the 10.10e's as the latest 6850 drivers for now.
