BMW X5 - Choice of two

The redeeming feature is that it looks fantastic and far more luxurious than black on black.

As long as you are looking at it through 100% blacked out windows from the outside.

If you think sick coloured seats are fantastic and luxurious...

If your vomit is the same colour as an X5's interior I suspect you need to make an urgent appointment with your GP.

Nah, I just need to drink less cider.

I'm sorry, but you'll never convince me that beige or sand or David Dickinson or sick or any other color of that ilk looks good.

For me black on black, with brushed ally trim, looks the mutts nuts.

I have spent 4 years with black on black and brushed ally trim. It is the only major criticism I have of my car. BMW's with acres of shiney silver and black everything inside look so plain compared to the more interesting colours. This is even more the case with the newer ones where the brushed ally trim, where pleasant, takes up half the interior.

Yeah, fair enough, I can see your point. The Jag is black on black and for me looks really nice, although it has grey birds eye maple rather than brushed ally, and I know some people have said the interior of a Jag looks awful. The wifes A150 is also black on black, although the seats have a sort of greyish fleck in them, so neither car is totally black and ally.

I think the design of the interior helps too. The Jag is quite curvy, while Beemer interiors seem, to me at least, quite angular.

Everything from the window line up, including the dash top and the top of the door cards, is black - the headlining as well on a Sport model. It looks great - its far better than all black. I've got all black, and I wish I had beige.

Perhaps so, but compare to a Camel Nevada interior, and you will see how much of a difference it makes to not have everything plastered in beige.

Obviously it's personal preference, but my experience has been that Beige interior cars are much harder to shift than Black.

Not camel, but I think serves the example. Take a look at the plastic trim near the glovebox. I think it's just too much beige and loses that sporty look inside:

Would you choose camel (or other light coloured individual) interior over beige ? If so, then you see my point about the beige plastic.

If not, then to each their own ! :p

YUK!!!! LOTS :p

I will now demonstrate my point with photographs of two E92's. I've tried to find two pretty good photographs (Never easy as black never photographs well) of identical spec cars - the only difference between these two cars is the interior colour combination.

See how one looks bland yet the other looks really rather luxurious in comparison despite being the same car?

Here are some more photographs of interiors to demonstrate how totally boring black is and how nice an interior can look without being black on black:

Say NO to black on black with silver and more black.

Black on black please as the others are horrible with the Beige looking particularly yuk, next you post the awful spice or [TW]Fox red. The ivory is alright and goes ok with the black but would have black leather black wood and black headlining.

How truely exciting.

Sadly it seems everyone who specs a new BMW is just as unadventurous, finding one with a decent interior colour combo is such a challenge.

Black/Silver ruins the interior of the E90 IMHO. It hides all the interesting bits and just makes it look bland.

You are wrong. Leave the thread.

The black on black looks good. Don't like the one with the random silver inserts as I'm really getting sick of manufacturers throwing in silver to try and make it look modern.

As for the beige, oh god no, especially the one that looks a bit brown.

light interiors look great in photos, and even in the flesh when absolutely minty clean. Hell, i nearly bought a topaz blue/grey leather E46 330i

thing is, unless you're a bit detailingworld, they soon start to look awful :(
