The Americanization of the UK

People over here calling their mothers 'Mom'.

Kids at secondary school calling it 'High School' and going to the 'prom' when they mean the school disco.

EVERYONE GETTING FAT.
 
I love the way we always seem to take the high ground against the USA, as though we've always been the good guys.

I've travelled between the two countries a fair amount, and also holiday there often & I'd say that the general level of restaurants (and other retail/services) are far better than here.

LOL oh well then i guess a few weeks ago that lobster i had that i chose from their tank was microwaved then was it??....same with the shrimps/prawns and the fresh trout i had along with the alaska king crab legs too??.

Such unsubstantiated rubbish...try again perhaps with a bit more of a clue and anyhow who gives a **** if its microwaved...it tastes bloody good, in fact cant even tell if its been microwaved or anything.

20% of the advert duration has promotional content. The other 80% is information on how said medications can kill or maim you.

One thing that infuriates me about advertising in America is the amount it's dumbed down. The whole 8th grade English thing really grinds my gears.
 
Everything is dumbed down though, its like please read these simple instructions rather than get injured and sue us.

Was in vegas and bought some stuff from a gift shop, they didn't supply a bag in case i suffocated i guess, so i walked out with stuff in both hands and put the reciept in my mouth as hands were full, the security guard on the exit wanted to stamp my reciept, and proper freaked out, thought he might catch aids or something cos it was in my gob.

I on the other hand believe we're having a huge effect/affect on them in return, besides proper Football I think their humour has changed a lot since a few of our actors/comedians have done well over there. They never really got sarcasm / wit etc. back in the day.
