More problems with this car, this time it's a clunking sound coming from the rear.
Happens when going over bumps, even small ones that you can't even feel.
It's not drivetrain related, coming on and off throttle doesn't cause it so I don't think it's to do with the diff at all.
Springs are not broken, and the subframe mounts are fine. No obvious play in anything but that wasn't the most exhaustive investigation tbh.
Is there anything else that commonly causes clunking on these?
Oh, and it cannot be replicated by bouncing on the boot.

My first thought was subframe mounts.

Does it feel "skippy" at the back end at all?

mounts look fine no tearing, it drives fine.

Check the top mounts
Check P Bush for play
Check wheel bearing
Check Exhaust for play

Thanks for the suggestions. I've grabbed the top and bottom of the shocks and ragged them about a bit, there was no obvious play there. Is there something further I can do to check the top mounts?

Check the drop links - wiggle the ends of the ARB.

You can check the drop mounts by removing the carpet (isn't too tough) and bouncing the car up and down - should be able to see if anything is moving too much.

Worst case would be subframe cracks - check the boot floor carefully for any warping.

You need to check underneath for the subframe tearing issue not in the boot as it's a double skinned floor (which is why the repair is so expensive).
