So looking for some opinions.

Have just been offered the following;

Astra VXR

80k miles, mostly A9 Motorway.
Arden Blue

£6.5K.

I know the guy, well I know his brother pretty well, and he is proper anal with it. Forever getting cleaned and always treated damn well. He is wanting it gone soon, as has just bought a new car as clearly does a lot of miles.

Now my thoughts are, I could sell this on for 6.5 in a years time. OCUKs thoughts?

Guy just bought a new car, he know it ill be hard to sell and well its xmas.

But its a lovely example, well cared for.

Yeah as said, I do hardly any miles a year as it is. So would be adding say 10k a year max.

Even the earliest examples are worth more than that despite the mileage to companies like that crap one always on the telly.

If its a straight example - which we all know is rare as 99% have torque steered off the road into a hedge/field - I would say go for it as you will lose very little, if anything within a year.

Fun to drive.

For a quick hatch around £6k i would go for a S3, far better build, more comfortable, and not that far off power wise. Should be able to pick one up with quite a bit lower mileage too for 6.5k

Personally I would be going for a 182, but this just seems to be a bargain and would be able to sell on in 6-12 months time at very little loss.

If you can bare to live with it for 12 months :p I assumed you would want a similar sized car, hence the s3 recommendation. Ignoring that, i would go for a 182 too.

They are hard to sell, ask Princey. Buy it if you want it, don't buy it to make a quick buck because it probably won't work out.

Buy it and sell it, you can make a nice profit on it or even have depreciation free motoring for a year
