VAT rise..anyone worried?

Need to buy a new washing machine as of this morning, unexpected needful purchase, it'll be bought prior to the vat rise, else there is nothing of note I wish to purchase in the foreseeable future, which thankfully corresponds with my current ability to buy luxury items.

More annoyed at the rise (again) in fuel duty, It really is distasteful that we are royally rogered every time we fill up (and public transport isn't a viable option for all of us before that brigade gets started)

Would you rush to the shops for a 2.5% sale? I know I wouldn't.
Sure, if you're buying a £1000 telly it's going to cost you 25 quid, but it's not going to change your mind on whether you can afford it, is it?

I've booked me Funeral at todays prices. I'm gonna save a fortune when I'm Dead. O Wait. :(

Nope.

When buying parts for my new build I did think "must buy them before the VAT rise!" ... then I figured that doing so would save me about £13.

Public transport, what that?

Oh is that that thing that is late and leaves you standing in a bus stop for half an hour for a bus that is suppose to run every 10 minutes or that other thing that charges you a crazy amount to stand up for 3 hours ours because it's over crowded and then have the cheek to charge you £200 for getting off early, perhaps because you need to pee/breath.

Not worried from a personal point of view, it might be a pain at work though as it took them long enough to sort out the previous drop in VAT so I imagine that it'll be equally as awkward when it goes up.
