Hey all,

Saw a bargain on autotrader so I sent an email, I thought it was too good to be true but sent it anyways. Worth a look I thought.

Its a 1.4 Clio '05 with 35k Milage for £1,100. FSH, Perfect condition etc.. (Cheap no?)

Well any how the guy said that he is now living in Spain and that the car is over there, but still registered in the UK. (Also has a SORN)

He said that an escrow service would send the car over for me too have a look before I buy.

Now, does this seem like this is well dodgy or what? ( I thought it was dodgy already)

Also he has sent me a link to the 'Escrow' companies website, which doesn't look good considering its on a free site. http://eagledelco.t35.com

Are you seriously considering buying this car?

Not now :p

Its also been removed from autotrader so I guess this guy must've got caught out.

Anyhow the replies I had.

Hi, the car is still available, £1100, 05' reg plates , 35k miles with the last service two months ago, very good condition, garage kept, no accidents events, HPI clear, no scratches or dents, road tax and mot to march 2011, log book and with all the necessary documents to make the sale. I am originally from spain and I had a work contract in uk, but recently my work contract has ended and I have moved back to spain where it is a quite hard and expensive to register or ride the car. The car is still registered in uk and comes with full service history and all taxes payed up to date, for additional specifications feel free to let me know. Many Thanks,

Hi , like I said my work contract in United Kingdom has ended and now I am located in Spain. I will ship the car using a company that act as a escrow service managing the payment and shipping, so from the time we will begin the transaction, they will insure our goods and take care about everything. The delivery include refund policy, so according to transaction you have 5 days from the time you receive the car to inspect it and decide if you want to keep it or not (which means that you will have the chance to inspect the car before to commit the final purchase). The shipping cost is included in price and takes 3-5 days. For additional information, check out the company website http://eagledelco.t35.com/how.html and if you are ready to get the ball rolling, I need to e-mail me your full name, shipping address and telephone number so i can set up the transaction.

LOL this sounds just like the scam car sales thread of mine!

As soon as I saw the thread title "Scam" came to mind :)

You even have to ask? Those email replies are full of little mistakes no one would ordinarily make.

No, wait. He seems legit. Send him your monies.

I always wonder how people get scammed by these things... but the fact you even had to ask if it was dodgy has put my mind at ease.

Oh you bunch of retards of course I knew it was a scam.

I guess even the english don't get sarcasm anymore.

Strange.
