Astra VXR - Dons Flame Suit

For a quick hatch around £6k i would go for a S3, far better build, more comfortable, and not that far off power wise. Should be able to pick one up with quite a bit lower mileage too for 6.5k

A £6k S3? The best you would get is a seven year old model, maybe 6 years old at a push, go for it, I can't possibly seeing anything going wrong there

Wasnt his a massively modified stolen/recovered?

Wasn't advertised as such but yes. However it does seem the bottom has fallen out of the market for these and the only people who want want seem to be those who can't afford one or can't inure one.

They are hard to sell, ask Princey. Buy it if you want it, don't buy it to make a quick buck because it probably won't work out.

Local dealership has an Arden Blue Astra VXR for sale (56 plate). Stickered up for £10995.

Every single day for the last 4 months now when I've been driving by (and I don't know how long before then) they've had it right out the front in prime position.

I'm tempted to one day go in and make a cheeky offer, as by now surely they'd be sick of the damn thing and give it away!

You've been offered it for that because thats all its worth. Ask Princey - his was lower mileage and he couldnt give it away - he had it for sale for months.

Thus it isn't a no brainer and neither is it depreciation free motoring. Therefore all my comments in the other VXR thread apply.
