Got Drugs? Pill Popping Whore!

Folic Acid - recommended to pregnant women..

Not with Methotrexate, it cause birth defects. You cant consider Children for at least 3 months after taking it. My Girlfriend has just started taking it for her RA. She also takes Naprosyn, is about to start on Folic Acid, and has started Steroids too.

I know you won't want my pity, but man I don't envy anyone who has to take that many pills. I'm fortunate to be in good health.

i gotz the sniffles :(

I have Psoriatic Arthritis and take Methotraxate tablets and Enbrel injections.

Any tips fighting the sickness feeling after taking Methotrexate? I have to bury the tablets in other food to be able to swallow them otherwise i get the constant feeling they stuck in my throat. :(

I honestly don't have any noticeable side affects and the list for them is huge, plus like I said above, I'd take them+pain killers on a Monday morning and go work without breakfast!

I guess I'm kinda lucky in that sense then.

Clearly taking them with food is best, afterall Methotraxate is a form of tablet chemotherapy you need to keep eating/drinking.

Can anyone surpass my weekly pill popping crown?
It looks like you take as many pills in a day as I take in a month. I think that's God's way of telling you to call it quits. Game over man, game over :(

Only kidding :p

I take 1x20mg prescription pill a day. Occasionally I'll take a few paracetamol or ibuprofen but I haven't had any in over a month.

My brother takes similar meds because he has something similar, hes also had allot of surgery to rebuild his feet as the bones practically turned to dusk not good for a 32 year old.

Frankly makes my diabeties seem not so bad, ok so ive got to stab myself but as long as i manage my sugar then the side effects can be avoided or at least kept to a minimum.
and nothing keeps you off the chocolate like knowing it could help make you go blind, or lose a toe or stop your dick working.

My mate takes about that much for epilepsy alone, not to mention what he has to take as pain killers (which change regularly as they keep reacting with his epilepsy meds - or vice versa depending on what changes)

Don't know how many grams of pills he takes in total per day but its a fair hand full in the morning followed by a handful in the evening, dose going up each week by 25g (one week morning goes up, the next week evening dose goes up) Something like that anyway, i forget the details

I can't even swallow a tiny pill let alone a handful, no idea how you people do it!

wow AmTech, I can honestly say there is more pills in your little box than i've taken in the last few years.

AmTech, have you ever just thought.... ah I don't need any of this crap, and not taken anything for a month?

Be pretty funny if you were perfectly fine.

(disclaimer - I'm really drunk)

Boo! Thought the thread was going to be about the naughty kind of drugs :(

Too bad about all the conditions that force you to take so much medication.

I used to pop quite a few pills in my time too - but supplement / alternative stuff for health benefits rather than illnesses. Heres a list of a few and their effects:

- Rhodiola Rosea : Adaptogen, Mood enhancer, Memory/concentration booster, Modulates the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis, which basically dampens your stress response.
- Vitamin D3 : Best supplement you can take - your skin makes it in the sun so i definitely lack that :P
- ZMA : Zinc and Magnesium - these are the two most important minerals for guys - zinc is used to make stomach acid which a deficiency of causes malabsorption of all other minerals AND it is used to make Testosterone, Magnesium relaxes, regulates sleep, calms mood, makes you awesome etc.
- Resveratrol. This stuff actually boosts your bodies ability to regenerate from cellular death (anti-aging), it is also a powerful testosterone aromatisation inhibitor (stops Test converting to estrogen).
- Nettle Root : another aromatisation inhibitor / T-Booster.
- Wormwood : mood enhancer - boosts neurotransmission in the CNS
- Pop a multivit on a semi-regular basis too but not religiously.

As you can see im quite the budding pharmacologist myself :P
