We shouldn't let them in, we shouldn't be invading them. I think you will find that anybody with my anti-immigration views is fully against the invasions of Iraq, Afghanisan, and soon to be Iran.

The politics and economics of energy and natural resource supply is probably one of my most strong points, as I actually work in the energy sector. Don't forget, that renewables are also dependent on natural resources - some of which are also very rare and there simply is not enough of them to sustain some methods of manufacturing wind turbines and solar panels. You can probably expect invasions for things other than fossil fuels in the future, that is of course depending on whether society hasn't collapsed by then, or more desirably, that we actually sort it out.

I agree with that fully.

People can pull little bits and bobs, and blame this as another irrational reaction based on cartoons but there is far far more to it than that. I'll never condone actions like this latest blast, but it's so important to understand (what if) there's more to it.

This reminds me of when I was in Stockholm in a rock bar shortly after the 7/7 bombings. When I met one of the patrons there he gloated how "it was a good thing" because the Brits deserved it. I remember telling him "you wouldn't feel the same way if it was Stockholm that was bombed now would you?". He just laughed and walked away...

Now I don't for one minute have any feeling of gladness about this but nothing before has struck so much of "watch what you say".

Hope not too many people are hurt and group in question get their just desserts. It's a despicable act of cowardice whoever is responsible. Just what do these nutters really think they will achieve?

So I guess it was a mix of things that was the reason behind it. Vilks was one of the people who did the drawings.

From what I've read it seems like he was a single person and not really a part of a bigger group but not sure (obviously). First he blew up a car and then himself. He's the only person that died.
