Lego Antikythera Mechanism

Them, the Romans and Egyptians have always been fairly interesting in how far along they got with science. I think I heard somewhere that the Romans found a way of generating electricity, but they unfortunately didn't see the point of it. Therefore they didn't bother trying to investigate it etc.

People have made some amazing stuff out of Lego. I've seen a working difference engine, a grandfather clock with a working escapement, a Bugatti Veyron with a sequential 7 speed gearbox... Absolutely mind boggling.

Amazing!
I went to a lecture run by HP in Bristol (When it was still there) a few years ago on this mechanism, it was very interesting, as was the bloke who ran it.
Lego = God.

What I find amazing is lego can create something like that. I heard a while ago that the factory has been running constantly for 50 years or something as they can't find the off switch. Stuff doesn't break down, it runs and keeps running.

Lego = beginning of the matrix?

Whilst it is extremely cool and made of Lego, im not amazed.. After all its technic lego made specifically for the very purpose of constructing clockwork and gear contraptions, i imagine the only thing limiting its uses are its structural and physical property's and the limit of the human mind.

I wonder if the factorys built out of lego, now that would be cool :D
