Khan vs Maidana

My god Maidana is hard as nails, he walked through everything (except for the body shot). Well done to Amir, hand speed and movement proving the difference again today, deserved the win, but wow was he in trouble in the 10th. They mention rematch, I doubt Khan will want to face this guy again in a hurry.
 
what a great fight, so glad i stayed up for this - 12 rounds of heart wrenching stuff, so much better than that crap a few weeks back. how khan managed to stay up, credit to the lad, proved so many people wrong today.
 
OMG what a fight.. Easily fight of the year for me.. Not sure if Khan has won or lost points on his overall standing for this one.. Yes Madiana is a warrior who just keeps coming and HAS the highest knockout rates in the division, but oh man, Khan was done 10th onwards, I really thought it was over when those knees buckled. Hats off to both fighters. Had a few pals over to watch this one and we were all on the edge of our seats..

The thing is, you'll never see Mayweather or Pacquiaio clinging on for dear life like we saw Khan tonight.. Yes neither have fought Maidana BUT he did allow himself to get caught on a few shots and he does seem to have stamina issues. Anyway alls well ends well. I don't think they be re-matching anytime soon. Khan has AMAZING boxing skills, but the glass chin is still present and we all know Roach crapped a cow tonight.
 
I also want to add, Khan is no way ready for Mayweather. He'd of been finished off in the 11th. Yes he displays some extra ordinary boxing skills early on, but he does get caught and he does run out of steam.
 
The fight could have been over after 1 second, as the bell went and Khan had his arm out to touch gloves, Maidana took a wild swing lol. Lucky that Khan was alert and dodged it.

Had there been 1-2 more rounds Khan I think would have been KO'd but credit to him for soaking those shots up and somehow carrying on. He didn't look troubled at all really until the 10th when you saw his legs go, and with about a minute and a half of the round remaining I thought it was definately over for him.

His speed, accuracy and power are right up there but when he doesn't get the early KO and gets hit with shots, it sucks the energy right out of him. He had nothing left in the last 3 rounds, he could barely hold his arms up, he was just in survival mode. Great fight to watch though, if you were falling asleep like me when it started, it woke you right up!
