LOLFacebook! Anyone bored already?

if someone wants a serious discussion without the crap then they should post their thread in speakers corner
 
It's just horribly over used and not funny in the slightest and spam.

I don't care about what your opinion on facebook is, just stop saying lolfacebook in threads in anything facebook related.
 
Question for mods, is it simply the "lolfacebook" crap you are handing out infractions for or are you going to be doing it for anyone criticising or speaking out against facebook in any facebook thread because it's "spam"? If the answer is no, how about you justify the entirety of GD and why you don' treat every other thread the same.

I agree with the sentiments towards the first two things mentioned. Neither of them were very funny the first few times and now, several years later, are just tired and boring. Fair enough if people don't like Facebook, or whatever, but things like this now just end up with the threads being trashed by people jumping on the bandwagon ...

Casual crap chat in GD & Serious no spam chat in SC, Rocket science it's not.
 
As one guy said, if used correctly, they can be funny.

But people just latch onto it and post it in every thread which makes it completely unfunny :(

The most annoying one i think is "Worst [X] thread ever......" Was brilliant at first, but now it is in EVERY single thread its kind of annoying :(

The requirements for SC are "Intelligent debate of newsworthy issues", some things merit at least a couple of reasonably serious responses but aren't quite at the threshhold for overall intelligent debate. In those cases if they don't fit into any of the other sub-forums then GD is the natural place for them - this may however mean that you get a lot of daft responses too.

It's at moderators discretion largely I'd assume, some things are banned outright "TFTI", pedobear pictures in the Random Pictures thread but others are done on the basis of what seems appropriate. If someone is consistently trolling threads with specific comments then there's a good chance they'll be banned for them for a period. Using totally prescriptive rules is not a good way to go generally in either a forum or indeed scaling up to a legal system - the aim is or should be to have a spirit based approach for most decisions, sure it's more subjective but it allows a bit of leniency and discretion where it is merited also.
 
It's also worth noting there is some Underground modding done in the way of Warnings issued to members via the message system.

Don't ask how i know this though. :o

edit: Can we simply refrain from banning anything and just increase the warning/suspension/ban system - I'm really put out that 10's and 10's of pages of discussion on The Walking Dead has been closed/deleted simply because of a few individuals who were breaking rules. The discussion has been spoiled, and ended for 100's of us, rather than simply having a moderator delete the offending posts and suspending/banning the culprit. A view at the bigger picture would be appreciated thanks Forum team. :)

Sorry, I can hardly type for laughing. I only started doing it as I noticed loads of Posts all about LolFaceBook and they always were pretty dumb, I always figured why not ask this on LolFaceBook not OcUK, and the LolWhatever had been used previously on DVDbunny and Majik and a few others to show contempt for them, as I don't want to personally attack anyone I just started doing LolFaceBook instead.

If you don't like it then add me to ignore, it's not against any rule I can see, there are other far more boring meme's here, so I can't figure why LolFaceBook is getting targetted out of all the other stuff?

The sooner FaceBook implodes under its own inanity the better, people take it far too seriously. :)
 
Infractions are being issued for repeat offenders as it's just tiresome and boring and, at the end of the day, just spam.

Why cant people just help others out?? Instead of posting Lolfacebook, when someone wants a little bit of help. If you have nothing helpful to input then dont bother saying anything.
People just spam moet topics now either saying Lolfacebook or worst whatever thread, it does start to bore you after a bit.
How does someone saying dont use facebook help anyone lol.
