Afternoon all, dare i say happy christmas!?!

My mum has a whole bunch of cassettes which she would like to turn into MP3s. As such she would like to get one of those tape to MP3 converters. I know the square root of nothing about this, could someone advise me which one to get?

Thanks folks!
Mike

download all the songs would probably be quicker
you have them anyway so copyright should be fine?

As others have said, sound-quality and time make it pretty pointless slog.

As said Itunes or another subscription would be better if the songs are on there.

Unless the music is incredibly rare I assume the music she wants has made it's way to the digital age one way or another (CD, online legal download etc.) She'd be much better off re-buying the albums on CD or online. You could probably buy the CD's cheap these days.

This. Works great for demo tapes you own but can't download from anywhere on internet.

Yep, I've done this for exactly this situation and it does work. For commercial music though, probably going to be availably digitally in better quality.

Old Walkman. Line in. Audacity. Enormous amounts of time and patience.

That's essentially what these products are anyway. My mum got (or at least, was going to) get my step-dad one a few years back but for old records, and the software it actually came with was Audacity.
