Cage against the Machine for 2010 number one.

I'm not sure whether it's Family Guy's very effective way of pushing the audience to the limit with that song, or whether it's just a rotten scab on my nob. But my god I hate that tune.

I hate it too, I used to love it in battlefield vietnam though whilst flying the helicopter :D

Nothing will beat X-Factor to number because there isn't the same unity behind one idea like last year.

Last year was a brilliant song choice that just happened to get steam naturally as the idea identified with everyone.

This year multiple groups want 'their' idea to be the one and there isn't the same drive behind one project, nor is there the same drive in general. What happened last year was great but it's not something that should be (or will be IMO) happening again and again.

edit:

"Online retailers have already clocked up huge pre-orders for the song – before the winner has even been crowned."

You have to remember that is the sort of attitude you're competing against - people who will buy a song before they even know what it is or who it's by.

It’s been done once before and people should just leave it and hope that some “proper” Christmassy pop music gets to the top. The “Bird is the Word” is just as moronic as the Cage silence piece.
