The numbers speak for themselves as to which country's way of life is "wrong". Do you see 15 million people a year trying to get in to NK or Saddam era Iraq or anywhere else for that matter? I suppose those 15 million are all brainwashed by Fox News. People are voting with their feet.

You need to think about how much of what you read is exaggerated. Communism isn't as evil as it is made out to be, NK isn't as evil, Iran isnt as evil, and our scoiety isn't anywhere near as 'free' as it is made out to be. Infact I would say Iran is more honest with its population than any western government.

There seems to be a general smugness and conceit prevalent in the West since the collapse of the Soviet Union. It's like an arrogant belief that western economies/societies triumphed due to their perfectly efficient markets; our wisdom has been vindicated; ours is the one true way. It is not.

But with the USA being the most powerful country in the world, with cultural, political and military tendrils all over the world, is it a surprise people would rather move there than sunny Chad? Being a wealthy, successful country attracts lots of people, and as such lots of people try to 'get in' to the USA. To a certain extent, maybe they are 'brainwashed'. In any case, I doubt many of the successful immigrants are as happy as they thought they would be.

Also, I'm not sure how lots of people trying to 'get in' to the USA proves that any other way of life is wrong.
