I'll be parking my car at Heathrow for 2 weeks over Christmas.

Heathrows own parking service is slightly more than Purple Car Parking but I've not used either before.

Any info on recommended parking would be appreciated.

Unless you are taking like 4 people I've always found a train to Heathrow to be easier, cheaper and less faffing around. Never yet has taking the car worked out viable.

I use Purple Parking valet service. Drop it off outside the terminal and have it delivered to the door when you arrive again. All for the same price as regular BAA long stay parking.

The regular service is fine too. Get a quote with Purple parking through www.bmiparking.com
It usually works out a bit cheaper than anywhere else, especially if you're a Diamond Club member. I get it for about half price through that.

Do you get a taxi because their transfers aren't great?
Mainly because we're lazy / tired (on the way back) and found a great local taxi firm and tend to go away for 3 weeks so the price difference + zero-hassle nature makes it the best way. No cases of coming home to a borked car as happened once!

As fox says. I booked through airporthotels4less staying at the Copthorne Gatwick for 1 night before flying from Gatwick (they will compare Hathrow hotels also), parking for 10 days, all in £95 inc the bed & breakfast at the hotel.
