Well I'm visiting my Nan & Grandad tomorrow and they near Overclockers by car. So no selling my harddrive before I get there guys.

can you copy an mp4 to a ps3s hdd via lan? So you can playit from the hdd itslef?

Yes, Get PS3 media server, mkv2vob

make sure then that vobs don't get transcoded.

Connect your PS3 to a 1Gbps network and copy the huge files over to the PS3. Problem solved.

well blow me down a console with gigabit, I stand corrected and I'm happy to be. can you have wireless for internet and gigabit for a private lan at the same time or is it one or the other

Think it's one or the other as you set up the connection via a wizard on the console, but I may be wrong.

so i just select it from ps3 media server (the mkvs) and copy with the triangle menu?
