Forza 4

Meh.

Isn't the first video from the Kinect Forza demo thing?

I'm really not going to be intersted in the next installment of Forza.

I wonder what aids theyll put in for Kinect to make those users competitive - can see it being quite a balancing act, one which potentially a fully aided up Kinect user could beat someone thats one a wheel with no aids on...

They will have to be some dumbing down either in the engine (which they definitely wont do) or adding these assists to make Kinect work better with the engine...

ps3ud0

you dont need kinect. it doesnt matter for probably 80-90% of people planning to get forza

I know I don't need Kinect, I've just got a good feeling they will focus a lot more on people with Kinect. Possibly trying to get a one up on GT5?

I really, really love Forza 3 and still play it a lot, I just hope they don't change too much. Night time driving and rallying does sound awesome though.:D

I'd be incredibly surprised if they implemented kinect to such a degree that it was used for actually driving the cars. If they have, I suspect they'd make it a separate mode, like 'Kinect Driving School' with random minigame challenges, kinda like how Modern Warfare 2 had those special ops missions that weren't part of the main game and involved stuff like racing snowmobiles.

They'll use it for gimmicky stuff like walking around cars in showrooms maybe, or for purposes like TrackIR on PC to control your view with your head rather than a stick.

It will be used for driving the cars but like the racing line and auto brake, you will have the option not to use it.

I was amazed at all the whining about auto-brake and rewind, people saying it makes it less of a sim. DON'T USE IT THEN!!!!!!!!!

I like the idea of kinect being able to adjust the view when driving. Using a wheel I find it hard to look about , as it were, if kinect could do that it would be a great feature. Of course I wouldn't wish to be hard braking into an apex, take a look to my right to see if I have track position , to find a bit of lag causing a bad exit! Also kinect can pick up other peoples movements so if could geta bit frustrating with other people in the room , doing things aside form stitting still.

Forza 4 .... cant wait, love em all , I love GT5 if i had a PS3 . Its all good driving fun. I had a quick blast on GT5 the other week and wasnt to fussed, I have just got back from a another blast , a lambo around laguna, and really enjoyed it...shame no room for futher black hot boxes under the TV. Now if my MS wheel worked on the PS3 then I may be tempted!

We all know that playing driving games on kinect is just not going to cut it, tired arms as said, I dont think its that precise to be tracking your feet moving up and down by a the travel needed in say a brake pedal. Hope I can be proved wrong, if it could, could it track my trigger finger in black ops2 ?

Surely head tracking isn't worth it unless you have monitors wrapped around your head? Unless I'm missing something it's not nice looking at the TV out the corner of your eye

This looks VERY impressive indeed, and as others have said I do hope MS give 3rd party wheels such as the G25/27 support etc ... that would be brilliant and something which is much need IMHO ..!

Ideally it would only need a little "nudge".

That being said, I've read it isn't so great on GT5...

when they say "top gear content", im hoping they mean the UK top gear and not the god awful US spin off.

From all the news sources I read, it is the U.S version. No surprise really since the U.K version license goes to Gran Turismo 5, and it is much more popular in Europe so it is only fitting.

In the last podcast they talked about when they came over to the UK topgear offices, showing them the latest build of the game, and clearly, the Ford GT above is on the UK TG track, and even the FM3 Ultimate Collection comes with a UK TG video... Sounds like predominantly UK stuff so far...

Lets hope Turn10 don't do their usual "add some cool features, remove/ruin some existing features" thing.

F4 should really just be all cars/tracks from F3 Ultimate, plus another 50-100 or so new models or extra classic/cool cars and another 5-10 quality tracks. Improve online play again, increase the texture resolution of the livery editor and fix 4WD once and for all.

That should be more than achievable within a year, especially considering they've already been working on it since F3 came out.

The physics model could also be refined to make it more realistic and the lighting certainly needs improving. Oh and they could put the real world tracks back to their proper width, particularly the Nurburgring, since it's far too wide in F3 and it does cheapen it.

They're also blatantly going to add far too much Kinect support, which is a worry. What will they do to the physics engine if they want morons to be able to 'drive' by waving their hands in front of them, using an imaginary steering wheel. One would hope that they simply make the Kinect 'driving' experience full of assists so that the physics engine doesn't get ruined to cater for a silly motion control gimmick.

Walking around cars is a nice idea, nothing wrong with head tracking either, but they always have to go overboard with this motion control nonsense.

Anyway if they did what I mentioned the game would be truly excellent. It can be further supported with even more tracks/cars over DLC. There are still 200+ awesome cars that F3 is missing and that's just a conservative number.

Personally I think the weakest point of all the Forza games has been the tracks. They've never had a very good track selection. Their own fantasy tracks aren't that good (particularly when compared to Polyphony Digital's creations) and they have nowhere near enough real world tracks either.

The real sad part is, I bet we don't get half of what I suggested in F4. Part of me even wonders whether T10 will include all of the cars from the Ultimate Collection in F4.

I don't know why everybody is so worried about Kinect support dumbing the game down. T10 aren't stupid, they know that the vast majority of Forza fans will want to drive with a wheel/pad, I really can't see them gimping the physics engine to cater for a minority.

It won't be an issue, the Kinect stuff will just have loads of assists.

I thought Fujimi Kaido and Montserrat were great tracks personally :)
