US PSN Account

PSN points card from the net it is then, quick question for you people doing this then, is it much of a faff to switch between two accounts on the PS3? i'm guessing downloaded games don't play on the other account

has there been any word on when or if the content on the US store will come to the UK?, would love to pick up the res evil and dino crisis PS1 titles.

You'd think after all this time they could have sorted out some kind of licensing agreement (if thats what the issue is)

Whenever you try to find any information about it's all posts from 2 or 3 years ago saying "it is happening... at some point" which seems a lot less promising when here we are, years later and there is still nothing to even hint it is happening

indeed. its not like it takes much effort to port it over from the us psn to the eu psn. oh well. i hope they do soon as i think im getting a ps3 im not sure yet.

Just setup 2 PS3 users with the differing PSN accounts and swop between them. Most games can be played on other user accounts though the owner account has to be there and working

The issue is just pure laziness of EU PSN AFAIK - I could do a much better job (with a bunch of translators :p)...

No faff at all. Just log out of one user and you can log into the other. And downloaded games work on every user that's on the PS3. I've got 3 users on my PS3(mine,my us one and my brother's) and I can use any downloaded games on any of them.

*edit*
And as for why the US gets better games - sony just doesn't seem to like us europeans. We get the worst PSN store and miss out on all the decent content. Both the US and Japanese PSN store are far superior to what we get.
Once you set up a US account you'll find their store is much easier to navigate and find things. Like if you want a demo there is a section specifically for demo's.

I agree completely that with Sony, Europe is constantly shafted. going back to pulling the hardware PS2 support from EU modles but not north american ones (i think now it is not available on any but yeah) to the constant content missing from the EU psn.

I do somethings get very "HATE SONY" just because of they way they run, they really don't care about their consumers, once youve bought a PS3 they have your money and they couldn't give a ****.

You can't really blame Sony for not having CAPCOM's PS1 games on the EU store. There's no technical reason the games can't be there so it most likely is licensing problems which Capcom didn't have with the US or Japanese regions, I would guess with the original European publisher.

The NTSC versions of the game were superior anyway; so you're better off with them from the US store. :)

Nah, I don't agree with that. They're adding things all the time for extra value like the iPlayer, Mubi, Vidzone, ITV Player, 4oD, etc.

I think traditionally they favour their core market which is Japan (while MS seems to favour US more) - its just far easier to use (vaguely legitimate) excuses like multiple language localizations by not providing the same service they do to their core market/markets with just one language to us. I blame the French :p...

I didnt think NA PS3s had PS2 support much longer (if any) than EU PS3s  - assumed the SKU production runs were the same...

Totally disagree with this though - the support Ive had from Sony for my PS3 has been top-notch - nearly as good as Logitech - but PlayTV startup freezes is currently testing my patience

the main bit regarding the "they don't care" was down to a very unfortunate problem i had with my first ps3, which basically died. and i rang them and they said, yeah that's fine just need somebody to hear the problem (it was an issue with over heating which i was told was covered), called back when near the console. and was told No it's not covered, good day, get on with it, bye.

sold it to a certain competitor who specializes in the second hand field, and bought a new one in the end. thinking of doing the same again for one of the slims, still can't get over how loud a PS3 is, 360? Jesus christ, as if you could watch a film on one of those (can't speak for the new slim)

DLC is region-specific, so you have to buy the same region DLC as the parent game. So EU Rock Band will only work with EU DLC...

If you want classic PS1 games why not look at 2nd hand sites and buy the PS1 version for a few quid?

I am currently selling my SNES and PS1 games and found a lot of others selling and even retro sites.
