hi guys this is a further question from my thread in the motherboard section.

basically i need to swap mobo's from 1 tower to another,
and i am looking for a shortcut, to avoid doing a fresh OS install on both pc's

is it possible

to remove a mobo and the hard drive (a) from tower A and fit to tower B
add another hard drive(b) to tower B
create an image or ghost copy from the original hard drive (a) to the newly added hard drive (b).

remove original hard drive (a)
and boot from hard drive (b)

does this make sense ;)

it might work, tbh windows is really picky on kernel load regarding mobos. and even a ghost image might have problems (diff device ids on the hdd for example)
