No apart from an integrated DLC system - the Cerberus Network. ME3 will likely have.
Finished the first one today, very enjoyable experience overall. Almost gave up on it at the start when it seemed like quite a slow game, but I'm glad I gave it more time because I really liked it. Think I may have still had quite a few areas still to explore, but I got 40-something hours out of it so I'll settle for that.
Don't think I'll be moving on to ME2 just yet, time to attack the ever-growing pile of other games I haven't yet started first.

I finished Mass Effect 1 yesterday. Did it in 12 hours (Main quest only). Superb game apart from the Slow down. Have already done 2 but i,m going to start doing it again with the DLC will spend more time doing the side quests in 2.
I just bought both Mass Effect 1 & 2 for £12,50 off ebay
Cant wait to get my teeth stuck in!
That good is it.
Cant wait. May pick up New Vegas to keep me entertained until it's release!

first one is brilliant but if youve played the second one and then gone back to the first it seems very outdated and clunky. 2nd game is one of the greatest of all time
agreed. thats exactly how i feel.

After somehow missing ME1/2 completely i played through both games in the past week or two. Excellent titles, and both good value for money. Took ages because the completion's in me couldn't leave any side quests undone.
I switched classes into a shotgun role for ME2 and really, really regretted it because i was playing through on insane difficulty, and you never get a chance to get up close to somebody with a shotgun.
Will play through them again as renegade at some point.

Not even when entering the Collector ship or the derelict Reaper? They were just amazing moments for me.

The second game is definately 'faster' I'll give you that, and combat is obviously much more 'gears of war'-esque than before, but the downside is the story isn't as good and the RPG elements have been mangled a bit. Not to mention it really felt a lot smaller (well beyond the Normandy
)If they could combine the best of both 1 and 2 into 3, then they'd be onto an absolute winner. I also thought the whole collector unveil was a bit cheesy and half expected. I prefered the way it was left with the first game.
Finished playing Mass Effect on PC a few weeks ago, and am about 11 hours into Mass Effect 2 now.
Both brilliant games.
Mass Effect 2 graphics and game mechanics are far better, whether you enjoy the story more or less is up to you.
The Mass Effect 1 graphics should have been much better considering it was released after Gears of War for the PC & uses the Unreal engine, but they're still decent

Mass Effect 1 on the PC wasn't ported by Bioware so there was only so much they could do. The UI was redesigned for the PC version though, and obviously running the game at higher res with AA helps. The controls are actually better than the ME2 port IMO.
Comparing console versions, Mass Effect was an obvious improvement over Gears of War; which looks extremely ropey IMO nowadays, especially in terms of texturing.
It's my biggest bugbear - the weapon/biotic selection interface is horrendous on ME2 PC. You can get by the biotics by storing them in the hotkey section but changing weapons is a nightmare.
I have completed both and there up the top on my list of Best RPGs I've played. The story & the atmosphere is great, characters are great 2
I completed the game 2 times, did not find it boarding at all as you can make different choices in game and find different outcomes and play as different class. Remember to keep your saved game as what choices you on the previous game effects the next game!
If your pc can run it buy mass effect 1 now you won't regret it

Mass effect 2 has a more action orientated gameplay but runs a lot better.
Its a shame both are not coming to the PS3 as a short comic is not really going to replace the experience of playing the first game through. Both games are very good and its my favourite series of games...
