(no the clio isn't mine! It's my nieces)

Fuel consumption is average
Trim is a bit nasty, dread to think what the lower spec. ones are like
Performance is dire
Cramped cabin and very little room in the back
Boot is smaller than a 106's
Gearbox is clunky

In addition, as it's a courtesy car is has the following:

Ditchfinder tyres, not much tread left on them either
Horrifically noisy brakes, suspect there no material left on the pads
a tendancy to veer to the right at random.

Overall, and this actually surprised me, the Xsara Picasso is much nicer to drive.

so there we go, cool story bro. etc etc.

Really not sure why this even exists these days, however I sat in the DS3 (whatever the top model in the range was) at the MPH show and was overwhelmed. It was a lovely place to sit, incredibly well built (felt German rather than French), and was specced fantastically.

Would really love to get a drive in one at some point.

They have the same (or very similar style) headlights, and some of the same design ideas (implemented differently) on the bumper, but that is pretty much where the similarities (in looks at least) end.

EDIT: peter beat me to it.

I love the DS3 it's my guilty pleasure :D

Despite vowing to never pay money for a citreon again after my wife owning a Saxo VTR many years ago I'd love a DS3. I love just about everything about it.

One of my neighbours works for a dealership and I love the looks.

I had a C3 VTR+ as a courtesy car for a day - albeit a properly maintained one, and I quite liked most of it, as far as 'run of the mill' cars go. Certainly an improvement on the previous Citroens I've driven. However;

The plastics on the dash were disgusting and to say the steering was vague and way over assisted would be an understatement - I'm confident I could steer one with my tongue.

The panoramic roof is a nice feature, its just a shame the way that pretty much the whole roof lining moves, feels really, really tacky.

I didn't even have to pay anything to insure it :D

My in-laws have a DS3 - and trust me - it looks NOWHERE near as nice as that picture.

It's a pretty bland, style-over-substance affair IMO.

Erm, the one I saw, in real life, looked exactly as it looks in the pictures.

I'm guessing the inlaws don't actually own a fully specced 150BHP THP.

I have to admit, having looked into the DS3 more i'm somewhat confused.

I was under the impression that the DS3 is a "hot hatch" version of the C3 and came with an engine circa 200hp.

Instead it seems to be the replacement for the C2? And comes with a range of engines, with the DS4 lineup being the true C3 replacement. Correct?
