Water pump making a strange noise

what pump?

is it resting against anything that will rattle? had my d5 cause things to rattle at high speeds, so had to drop it down a notch to stop (whatever it is) from rattling

Nope. It seems to be working fine, just making that noise over the past week or so (I did think it was a HDD until I pulled the pump power cable and the noise stopped). I'm going to dig out my Megahelems later on just in case it dies over the holiday period.

looked at the video could be to full or has it always been like that? there not the best pumps if you have had it a while could be on the way out. i did have its bigger brother and it was vibrating on the case so i got rid it did my head in that much. hold it if it stops making the noise thats it
 
Always been like that, the noise is a recent happening, the past week or so. It gets louder and quieter at random. Holding the res or tapping it with a spanner makes no difference. I'll leave it as is over the holiday period and replace it in the new year with something similar to what I have on the GPU loop (as shown in sig). At least if it does go pop I have a Megahalems in my spares box.
 
For what it cost me it's not worth the hassle. Anyway I'd rather replace it with something a bit more heavy duty given the opportunity.
