Dell messed up

Seriously - I work for Dell UK sales distribution.
I'll pass it on to my sales colleague first thing tomorrow.
2 shiny new XPS i5 laptops ordered by a ...
Mr Castiel - Wise Guy - OcUk forum member.
hmmm.

What i see it as is would dell really miss one laptop? if they dont know they messed up ah well their fualt just keep quiet about it OR ring them and keep the phone but but dont actually talk to any one after 6month sell it.If they ever chase you for it you say you rang them but they never came to collect

This happened to me in January. Got 2 identical laptops delivered, only charged for one. I called them and told them to come and collect it, they said they would e-mail me a prepaid postage label and that someone would pick it up.

Waited 2 weeks for the e-mail, which never arrived. Contacted them again - said the same thing. Again, never came. Almost a year later and we still have it, for free.

So, I tried, but they weren't fussed about it seems, so I win, I guess.

edit: If I were you, contact them, you might get the same treatment as me. At least you're being honest...

Yeah this is my dilemma, I don't know if I'm comfortable with just saying nothing. I may wait until after the weekend and then call them up, or send an email to the chap who dealt with my order originally.

... of course if you really want to you could give it to me? Old buddy old pal? \o/

In need of a new laptop, my one broke so this one is on loan :p

To be honest - Dell don't give a monkey about it. My company has the usual corporate stuff in agreement and they don't make a big deal.

You're meant to tell them and they have to arrange to get it. As it's an obviuse mistake and does not come under unsolicited goods. Would be tempting to do nothing and see wha happens though.

you mean the guy who is probably being marched from his office as we type, after being sacked for a laptop that has mysteriously vanished, they guy whose 3 young children will be getting no presents at christmas and will be dining on a £2 tescos chicken instead of a plump turkey?
the guy whose wife will probably leave him and take the kids when the money dries up?
the guy who will ultimately end up never seeing those kids and becoming lonely and depressed , they guy who will then end his own sad life? :(

I'd keep it and say nothing tbh

Assuming yours is fine and they've only charged you once, contact them.

I personally would find the email address on their website and email them to tell them of their error, and ask that if they want to collect it they should contact you to arrange a date for them to collect it.

I however would not phone or email them repeatedly or anything. Just the one attempt above.

Yeah, this seems to be a reasonable course of action.
