i just saw a shooting star!

How many have you seen?

I used to go fishing a few times a week years ago and 50% of the time I went at night. Some of the places we went had pretty much no light pollution so you could see the sky clearly. I used to sometimes look up at the stars and would see shooting stars regularly. Sometimes a few over a 5 minute period.

This, I've see loads out fishing any place where there is no light pollution is best for viewing.

I see little guys all the time, also. But two nights ago I did get to witness a real fireball. Watched it turn from yellow to orange to green (eventually), before it dropped out of sight behind my neighbour's house. I would say I was able to watch it for about 8 seconds. I've probably seen 2 or 3 of those in my lifetime. Always impressive.

I know it struck ground somewhere, but I didn't hear anything on the news about damage from it.

Sorry OP, I saw 8 on Monday night. :p

Forced my girlfriend outside in the freezing cold for nearly 45 minutes to see the Geminids.

Was the first meteor shower I've managed to catch in ages.
