Will take my dad away from me in the next few hours.

I'll never forget he took me to see star wars, queuing around the block to get in for hours. He bought the first video recorder for the family, a betamax.

Took us to the video shop to rent our first movie, ghostbusters, woooo.

Also took me and my little sister to see Jaws 3D, thanks for the trauma dad.

Still, I'm going to miss you, and will always love you.

Oh and I still have all them star wars toys in their boxes you bought me.

RIP.

SJ.

Don't know what to say, sorry to hear. :(

Cancer really is an awful disease. I lost my grandma and granddad in the last year and half to it and it was truly horrible seeing what they had to go through.

Sorry to hear mate :( horrible illness and worst time of year.

Just remember the good times and you know he's going to a better place and won't be going through whatever he is going through now :)

Thoughts to you and your family.

Don't know you but sorry to read your sorrows swanseajack. Keep soldiering on.

Dang I'm sorry mate :( , its such a horrible thing to watch someone try and battle cancer.
Stay strong fella, he will always be with you, no matter what.

I'm very sorry about your father :( But hey, from what you've said, it sounds like he was a great guy, I know it's probably not the angle you're thinking of right now, but think about how many lives he's enriched, just by people knowing him (yours and your sister's for starters) :)

So sorry. :( :(

I lost mine a couple of years ago almost to the day (18/12/08) to cancer as well.

I hope your family pull together in this time of need.

Best Wishes to you and your family during this terrible time.

Kind Regards,
Steve.

If you are Welsh then frankly that's a typically Welsh way of seeing things (I'm a Valley boy).

The title of your thread is a bit blunt.

My dad took me to see Star Wars when I was 10 - the original mind you. And we both loved it.

Think of the positives.
