So what would you do?

Bought tickets a while back for a gig, however just recently found out I couldn't go so posted them online for sale.

Guy contacted me and bought the tickets for cash today. No problem.

However just found out now the concert has been cancelled due to the weather and I will be getting the money for the tickets refunded to my card.

So what would you do? keep the cash, wait to see if the guy contacts you or contact him to offer the money back?

To be clear, I already texted the guy to arrange a time for me to give him his cash back. He seemed quite surprised I did. However I was just interested on others opinions.

I'd contact the guy and give the money back because I am a half decent human being.

I was going to say that the answer to this is obvious but then noticed you were Scottish lol. Refund the guy and don't be a ****

ninja: glad to see you've done the right thing!

Its in situations like this where im reminded of the old saying: Dont be a ***** and give the innoccent buyer his money back.

Good on you for doing that, I can imagine lots of people wouldn't have.

I would have probably waited for them to contact me about getting the money back myself.

Because you were refunded the money, then of course give him it back, but if you weren't refunded it might be different. Always be the one to contact them as they would be more grateful that way, if they contacted you they might think you wouldn't have bothered if they didn't contact you.

Contact him, then refund him. Don't be a dick about it. After all, if you keep the money, you're better off, if you do the decent thing, you're no different, but you've kept your dignity
