Hi all,

Just trying to price up a new watercooling setup and I'm wondering what the best watercoolant on the market is at the moment? I was checking some reviews that showed Thermochill EC6 Non Conductive Coolant - Clear as the best; however, can anyone vouch for this?

Any suggestions welcome, thanks in advance!

I believe we are inadvertantly promoting the evolution of a super strain of indestructable bacteria by using kill coils. Eventually some bacertia will come along and laugh in the face of your silver kill coils and break out of the loop and take over the world. In the distant future when they sit down to discuss why the human race was nearly wiped out they'll say that it seem to coincide with a sudden rise in the sales of silver and water cooling equipment back in the early 21st century.

Lol. Don't forget that bacteria need to mutate their dna in order to become resistant to kill coils, this is pretty unlikely. And if it ever does happen, Chuck Norris is only a phone call away.

Thanks for all the distilled water and kill coil suggestions; however, where would I get a kill coil from?

google it, asking for competitor links is not allowed

I'd give another vote on the mayhems range, I've been using his dye for 6 months with no staining or breaking down. I've also got a bottle of his biocide for when I rebuild my loop later on. The stuff is very well priced, and is highly concentrated. 3-4 drops of UV purple is plenty enough for roughly a litre of water.

Are OCUK going to be stocking Mayhem's products RJK?

i'm not bothering with dye anymore, coloured pipe is the way forward ;)

Are you sure? I'm looking at my setup right now, the dye in the water looks beautiful, add to the fact that you can also see the clear bit on the outside of the tubing. With coloured tubing it would look coloured on the outside too. It's probably just as good, but I really like how it looks at the moment. I may stick a couple of pieces of coloured tubing in my loop at some point. It has the advantage of being able to use more than one colour in a single loop, unlike dye.

if you saw the state of some of my pipes after using dye, you'd see why i'm not bothering anymore...

shame that you can't get 1/2" hose in purple, my life would've been so much easier :p

i agree it does look good, plus you have the added bonus of seeing it in waterblocks (if you have plexi tops) but the hassle of cleaning etc, i don't see it as being worth it
