Just a heads up it's available to download.
i played the trial version.
surprisingly good and well optimised for a games pad. still has that "twitchy" feel to it.
but after playing for an hour i knew i'd never be as good as i was with a mouse/keyboard back in the day.
graphics are good also.

worth a look guys (363mb)

cheers dude I'll check it out.

I had a quick blast last night, graphics were still fairly decent by todays standards, however I feel it's crying out for a mouse/keyboard. Just felt a bit twitchy, obviously being a PC game originally it's not really designed/optimised for a console. Might get it when it drops in price but at 1200 points I feel it's a tad overpriced.

had this on dreamcast ...... used to own my mate big style with railgun when i was usign teh dc keyboard/mouse and him on pad lol

I remember the days of playing on the dc servers with my pc.

Damn it was easy against pad players.

Don't think I will bother with this.

Needs a lower price, 1200 points is way too much.

I'll grab it when they put it on special.

Too expensive at 1200 points - I played Quake 3 a lot back in the day on the PC and am not sure I could go back now and play on a pad it just didn't feel right.

Better just to play Quake Live in my opinion.

Is that totally up and running now i kept track of it in the early beta stages but it seemed to be taking forever. Would be up for giving it a bash aswell.

As much as i like Call of Duty etc i loved quake 3 and unreal tournament just for the sheer level of dumb fun.

Yeah I agree with you on the just jumping in and having a blast aspect. Quake Live has been up and running properly for a few months now.

If you were going to buy this: stop and buy a quake live subscription instead. (Even though you don't have to. it is free.)

I hope this means RTCW Arcade might be on the way, it was 2 years old by the time I ADSL was available to me and would really benefit from the extra FPS.
