Im on a budget so im looking for price/performance and ive been advised to get the GTX 460 unsurprisingly. But im stuck as to which one. Ive seen the Palit 1gb version (sonic, not sonic platinum) and im just wondering if its a good deal if i could get it for around £130?

To provide some balance if nothing else, I can vouch for OcUK. Bought tonnes of stuff here over the years and only had one bad RMA experience, which they later sorted out anyway.

Well im not saying im against OcUK, im just stating the obvious that they have had some pretty poor reviews. Not to say they havnt had any good ones though. And well i havnt bought anything from them before. Started using their forum then googled what their customer support is like then saw what was said. Mixed thoughts now

I wouldn't worry.

If they were rubbish, this forum wouldn't be so busy all the time, as many are customers.

I've had to RMA, as we all do at some stage, and they are no better/worse than any other in this respect.

People who get bad experiences tell the world about it, people who get good experiences just carry on about things without saying a word. Same in everything.

give em a go. ive never had issues, Ive had to RMA and it was sorted

Aye they've done me proud also. Never had one bad thing to say about Overclockers, unless they run out of the 5850s on deal before I've got money on Sunday :D.

My friend has spent over £4000, possibly more in the last two years here without problem. I've never had a problem myself and I'm looking forward to buying an i5 quad, motherboard and RAM by Tuesday. I do have a friend who says he'll never buy from here after a lengthy RMA with a DFI infinity but I keep telling him to come back as I've never had a problem but he's a stubborn bugger. His loss :).

I had the same issue with a DFI 975x board. I think OCUK had issues with them back then and couldn't do much. If you remember, at one stage OCUK were saying that DFI RMA's had to go through DFI - well i did that and it took 4 weeks.

I put it down to DFI being a tiny outfit with barely any tech support in Europe, let alone the UK. End result, I'll never buy a DFI board again, they don't have a clue.

Yeah, this is probably what happened to my friend also. I think he found some negative articles about OCUK and judged on others opinions whilst feeling annoyed about the turn around time which was out of OCUKs hands.

Ok say i give them a go and buy that MSI 5850 deal. Its new to the market so how can anyone tell if it will have compatability issues or something of the sort? sorry if thats a stupid question but its important

Well I've switched from X800XT PE to 7600GT in the same system without a problem on an N-force4 chipset and I've used the 8800GTX to 4870 on this system as well as recently testing a 9800GTX+ my mums next door neighbour found in a bin. The guy works as a refuse collector and would you believe it, it works perfectly :D. Played Call of Duty online for about 30 minutes before sticking my 4870 back in.

Some people have had problems switching drivers and such but it's never happened to me and I've been gaming on my PC for 11 years now.

I can't guarantee anything, neither can OCUK as they just buy and sell these parts. But, from experience I've had no problems with equipment, drivers etc.

I can promote to buy with confidence and I think if you had my history with lack of problems that you would promote the same from your experience. Regardless of where you buy from, you've still got to hope the product/s you buy are in working order and the staff here are keen to keep OCUK's name out of the mud.

Good luck with your purchase and if you're unsure about anything, call OCUK directly and have a word with one of the staff to clarify any of your uncertainties.

Thanks for the help and advice. Just one last thing, the description says it has dual link DVI and HDMI. I cant see any dual link dvi on that picture lol

Check from post 132. I'm buying one of these cards either tomorrow or Sunday so I'm interested in this too. Hopefully Gibbo will clear it up in that thread as to avoid threads appearing asking the same thing.
