just orderd this monitor will this be a good monitor for adobe photo/video work
i was just concerned when i looked at the post where that aus chap went all that effort to remove the anti glare off the screen by dismantling it and soaking it in distilled water ,bit extreme ,i wont be pulling my dell apart for some extra gloss .read the tnt review and it seems to perform admirably .but have heard a few conflincting views ,i suppose i should have gone to comet or pc world to veiw before buying ?mind i only think there is only meant to be 3 manufactures of lcd screens world wide .

It's a great monitor, you haven't made the wrong choice :)

Just make sure that you calibrate it, or download some ICC profiles for it, to change the standard brightness, contrast etc.

As far as I know, no major retail store sell Dell monitors out on the shop floor - they hardly even have any really popular brands like Samsung.

TheCenturion already linked you to the post I made for what calibrated settings others have used, but it might not even be necessary as the U2311H comes pretty well calibrated out of the box.

Still, you have your own calibrator so you might as well use it :)

Thats what annoys me you can never get the decent stuff in the shops.

But yeah its a very good monitor, I wouldnt worry about gloss, its not a glossy monitor at all.
