Hot Water Options without boiler

Man up and have a cold shower I had to for 2 weeks when the boiler broke.
Also if its shared its the duty of the management company to fix it asap.
Put some pressure on then threaten to go to a hotel and send them the bill etc.

Perhaps you can get some device to attach it to the tap which is easily done.

We have spoken to the managment, theres nothing that can be done in short notice, we'll have to wait till next year realistically.

Ah well, off to uni for a shower then. This isn't a one off as said in the OP, its been a month of lukewarm showers, facing another month of none by the looks of it.

I recently had to go without any hot water for a weekend, I decided to have cold water showers rather than go without, that wasn't pleasant. I don't envy you being without hot water for a month potentially.

I'd be on the phone to whoever provides maintenance to the block and get them to sort it - only a sap would put up with conditions like that.

Theres nothing that can be done as the entire apartment is affected.

Apparently the hot water tank has split and a new one is needed, nothings going to happy urgently over xmas I think as people are winding down , etc.

Had this recently, boiler broke and not hot water or heating for a fortnight.

Boiled a kettle of water, took it and a jug into the shower with me (well, bath where shower is), put 1/4 hot water 3/4 cold water into the jug, one 1.9l kettle lasted the shower with a hairwash included.

LOOOOOLLL

I doubt that will even wet you nevermind clean you, most electric showers run on 6-9kW.

It doesn't heat the water, it just pumps it. You would only need a warm bucket full of water to use it for a quick shower.

Most showers require a heat source anyway, it will only pump with the energy it's provided, which will be very weak.

Might be enough to give a pet a shower but to shower yourself it'd be extremely poor.

Electric showers don't require a heat source, that's the entire point of having them. That's why they use 10KW, to rapidly heat the water.

I had this at the last place I lived in.

They had solar heating, and then 3 boilers to help when it wasn't enough.

Obviously with our great climate, solar heating was clearly just there for a tick in a box somewhere.

The first boiler failed, overloading the other two.

They ended up putting a 'temporary measure' of a huge container with a heater in it outside the block piped through the garage to the old boilers....

I left the block after being there for 6 months, when I left I asked them how much longer they thought it might take.... they had no idea.

You could be in for the long haul... so if your renting, complain and ask for a huge rebate.
