I have quite a lot of spare time and never seem to do anything much with it, browse forums, watch sport, films, read news etc..

Went to library last weekend and got a few books on HTML/PHP to try and do something with it.

How many of you do anything useful with your free time?

No, I always feel I could be more productive but I just feel so tired at the end of the day. I should really be doing more.

I dont really do anything constructive most of the time tbh, but I wouldn't say I waste it.

I play games, talk to friends, see friends, go out and just do what I fancy tbh!

EDIT: I think its only "wasting time" when you've got something to do but instead spend it sitting on Facebook doing nothing :)

That's good of you. In my spare time I try to re educate myself in terms of news, findings e.t.c. I do check for new jobs from time to time and I also try to reduce my bills every 6 months or so, which takes alittle time to do throughout the months looking for new deals e.t.c.

Some days (unlike today), I get loads of jobs done. I think there was another thread on here about how people feel guilty for relaxing in their spare time, despite working every day.

I am one of those people, comes with old age.

The only time I really waste time is when I'm hungover. Even then I try and get out and do something.

Alternatively:

Time isn't wasted if you're getting wasted - Asher Roth.

I'm one of these people that either wake up motivated to do something, or wake up and think chillax day.

No time is being wasted if you're happy doing what you're doing.

I like this philosophy. If your happy doing 'nothing' in your spare time, it's not wasted, even if you feel you should be doing something.

Although, If I don't do anything that's worthwhile (productive/ creative) I always end up feeling crap. I usually read up on something random and learn about it in the process.

ATM I'm reading up on how 'sea mines' work... Later I'm going to compare some graphics cards for Christmas, then make myself a steak, play some UT3, download some stuff etc

Generally though, I just don't stop doing stuff, I'm either programming, or doing some graphics design, designing something stupid like a hover bike on MAX.

I do also do a lot of gaming though, sometimes for hours on end, yea it's not creative, but what the hell, I like IT.

Nope not at all. I really should, there are a lot of things I want to do, but I just don't do them. Especially over the summer I made very little use of my spare time and it messed up quite a lot of things for me. Hopefully I'll sort myself out over Christmas though. :)

I can always find time for relaxing, hobbies and doing the odd job around the house/garden. I do find it hard to get motivated for the latter.

I'd have to say sometimes, On the one hand i chill a lot & just let things pass me by but on the other when i get on one i get untold done in no time.

Varies. I can 'waste' a lot of time but quite often find something moderately productive to do, usually something in electronics and/or audio.

Spare time? If you give me 36 hour days these days i can fill it, and that's with 8 hours sleep and the rest being productive.

Last few months i use the time on my commute to catch up on my sleep, or do photograph work (bought a MBP so i can do that), at home I seldom have nothing to do, xbox hasnt been on in months, weekends is always things to do. I am never home more than 12 hours at one time, that is including the time sleeping.

I envy people having spare time!

P.s. Right now i am posting this on a bus!

Pps, trying to think of things ive done lately to get more "time" back.

Like yesterday i had arranged to meet up with a girl for coffee, but i also had to go somewhere else and need to make the bus. But i valued the time with her more and spent the extra hour with her knowing i will miss the bus, and had to fork out £35 on a taxi ride to get to where i need to go. She doesn't know this of course.

I bought a drobo because i dont have time to set up a NAS.

I took unpaid leave from work so i can go on holiday.

The list goes on.
