Thinking of heading up to London for new years, would be good to hear what you lot are up to in the City as I'm a bit stuck for ideas!

More in to alternative/indie over clubbing so looking for places that are quirky, fun and different to see the new year in with some friends.

I've been to KOKO's before which looks good but, like everywhere else, is quite pricey. Had other places recommended like bethnal green working mens club, and all star lanes.

Any cheap fun alternatives? Or more of the same?

No point going to London on NYE. Over priced and over rated. Not to mention too crowded and annoying.

Would rather spend it with my nearest and dearest =)

I knew there would be one:) I've had a couple of great NYE's in London. You're doing it wrong.

The Roxy looks good, rubbish website though..!

Koko was good last year but now I've done london once, i won't be doing it again.

Tubes were rammed heading out, soo expensive and packed to the rafters. Great fun but also quite frustrating. House parties from now on!

I'd advise against going to see the fireworks on the river - tis indeed crowded and annoying. (Though its also free so I don't think it can be classed as over priced).

Unfortunately I'm not really into the whole alternative thing so can't advise the OP too well however you'll surely be able to find something in Camden to suit your needs.

+1 for The Roxy, play stuff like Friendly Fires, Depeche Mode, The Cure etc and has a good atmosphere.
Double vodka and mixer is 2.70, safe to say I don't remember my nights there.

yep I'd avoid going into central london as well seems too overcrowded

tbh last few NYE i've been home with family but I'm looking to change that this year
