I bring you a tale full of WTFery. Today I decided I would go an take some temps inside my case with an infrared thermometer, so I load up some benchmarks for half an hour then I opened her up. Upon looking inside, I saw a shocking sight! I saw this plastic cylindrical thing sitting on my GPU, then I looked at my Vantage and saw that one of the thumb screws was missing! I have a closer look and found that there is also a metal spring sitting on the PCB of the graphics card! How did that not cause a short? I still can't find the actual screw for the cooler so I must assume it is sitting there somewhere at the bottom. But, how did it not short it out? How is it still even working?
The more worrying factor is how long has it been like that? I took this picture on the 11th for my project log and it was there, look closely at the front of the GPU for the spring and you can see the bit missing from the top left of the Vantage!
