Righto - long story short - I worked a few years with a sole construction trader (me as the 'apprentice').

I had some stuff I wanted to do at home, so he said 'Use my trade account to get the materials so you can get the discount, then we'll tot up and you can pay me back.'

Our relationship soured, so he gave me an invoice for what he said I had bought for personal use. I disputed the amount, as some of it was for company use and some for personal use. He docked my last wage package for the full amount of the outstanding invoice - refusing to discuss the invoice.

Is this legal? I would like to know if it's worth speaking to CAB/other legal representatives (It's not a huge amount, but it's the principle).

Many thanks - Quink

I would imagine small claims is the way to go, after writing to notify intention of action (or whatever you call it).
