Hi all new member joined today
I am thinking hard about a MB to marry with the items below and to attempt some OC.
I have decided to buy the Gigabyte GA-890FXA-UD5 890FX Socket AM3 8 Channel Audio ATX
to complement the GPU and CPU already bought

Sapphire HD 6850 1GB GDDR5 Dual DVI HDMI Mini Display Port Out PCI-E

AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition 3.4GHz Socket AM3 8MB L3 Cache 125W

Simply what are your views on this combination ....
was thinking of a SSD of some description and of course RAM ... what should i get to round of the build ... many thanks FUNKY:D

Good motherboard but you could always save yourself a little bit of money and drop down to a 890GX board. You will still be able to achieve a good overclock and you still get xfire support.

would it be a problem to explaine the differance is that not the same chip set ???
Gigabyte do a GMA,FXA,GPA,
MSI DO A GX
I really like GIGABYTE personal preferance ...

Yes both same chipset. The GX has an onboard graphics card which is a handy backup if your main GPU goes down. Other than that there is very little difference between them. The FX would probably allow for a slightly larger overclock but you would also need more extreme cooling.

Yes I looked at that,, I am thankfull of your advise ... my intension is not to go to mad on OC but allways think ahead with regards to expanding would this MB take the 6 core AMD as the one does i suggested ..... really appreciate your wisdom ..Many thanks

As a rule of thumb with AMD® gear you should really try to avoid spending an excessive amount of money . . . the board you have gravitated towards is considered expensive . . . as much as it is a nice board what actual features will benefit you for the added premium you are paying?

Below I have picked out a more affordable AMD® motherboard which is an ideal starter board and is rammed with good technology . . . along with it there is 4GB of quality Corsair DDR3-1600 and you still a few quid under what you was intending to pay for the motherboard alone! ;)
