Do many use voice-comms on SQDM? I'm yet to play it, as I've only had the game for two days and want to get to grips before I jump in and ruin others' experience :p

Quick recommendation: the Medic class will net you the most XP. Be a good Squad and Team Medic, and you should level up very quickly.

Thanks, I've been mostly playing as engineer or assault class due to preferring those weapons so far. Certainly takes an age to level up compared to CoD :)

Try playing SQDM. You can get a lot of points in that as engineer/assault.

Engi in SQDM? Its fine if you want a Gustav for backup but Recon probes make all the difference in the world in SQDM, plus you get C4 as backup so you can either blow up the vehicle or blow giant holes in buildings. Not to mention the extra points for Squad Motion Mine Assists. Though i don't really think SQDM is a good mode to play if you want to level fast.

I'd have to say Panama Canal Conquest is 1 of the best maps in the game and nice and easy to get points on if you play it right. Offensive Recon (or Assault w/ Shotgun) and some C4 or some extremely offensive Engineer play with AT Mines and you can rack up so many points in vehicle kills. Just remember that throwing AT Mines at stationary tanks and shooting them blows them up and the Repair Tool is a VERY powerful weapon. Will take off at least 2/3 of a tanks hp before it runs out, though you have to be careful of them bailing out to shoot you if they don't have the awareness of cabbage (a lot of people do...).

Getting lots of points as Medic mostly works if you intend to whore points and not actually help your team. I've lost count of the number of times i've seen Medics at the top of of the losing team because all they did was throw down medkits, defib and sit around not doing much. My personal favourite are the Medics that res the same guy 3 times in 20 seconds purely for the points. Not really a fan of Medic tbh.

I know the Bronken guys use Mumble when they play. Great fun when you're not on there squad but listening in also :D

The CG is nice for clearing out cover yeah but the main reason I play engineer is the responsiveness of the SMGs. I also don't get on well with sniper rifles so recon is out for me. Though as so many other people play recon I can usually quickly switch kits and drop out a sense mine (and then switch back).

If you're playing well in SQDM you can rack up kills extremely quickly, which in turn leads to lots of gold stars and the like. Perhaps if you've not got any decent unlocks already it would be hard, though...so fair point there.

edit: Have just compared our SQDM stats :p Try out the engineer weapons, y0.

The worse are idiot medics on Conquest who would rather revive you than shoot the guy stood next to you....

Had that in a game just on Vietnam. I died, got revived and the stupid medic decided to keep reviving me until he got the idea i was being shot at everytime he revived me.

Its worse on Rush tbh. You're more likely to get pinned down somewhere or to be heading into the same place repeatadly. Its always hilarious as a Sniper on hardcore when you get to shoot the same guy over and over :p

Was irritating earlier though when i was 1 second from respawning at a point that was being capped by a vehicle and i suddenly get ressed half the map away...

Didn't know you could view stats for individual gamemodes? That bfbc2 site is out of date anyway, think it went into meltdown when Vietnam came out.

Well if you're looking for a close range Sniper then Tefal is your man (very much so given his kills on the M24, lol), i prefer the Shotgun myself. Some maps it just doesn't go well though if theres too much cover to properly shotgun slug people. Switching to a recons kit and chucking it is always good though.

I'm not gonna go out of my way to level up quicker, if it means using weapons I don't like (sniper) or game modes I'm not keen on.

*shrug* Theres not all that much difference if you get a decent map tbh on Conquest.

Yeah, bfbcs seems pretty out of date actually. I was mostly just comparing the amount of SQDM win pins we had. Not in an "omg i'm teh best" kind of way but just as an idea of roughly how many games we've probably played. I've spammed SQDM quite a lot of late :s

I used to love shotgunning with recon but I seem to have become steadily worse with shotguns - not sure why. I've seen some really impressive short/mid range sniping at times though... Usually it's quite frustrating to play against someone like that :p

170 vs 9, think its obvious you've been playing it a lot more than me :p I don't tend to play it on random servers, mostly just when Bronken are playing and i join em. Which probably accounts for many of the losses in SQDM too if i'm not on there team ><

I've been using em almost constantly recently. Was watching my gfs brother playing with slugs as i recall them having utterly ****e hitreg when i last tried so they'd miss direct shots so much it was suicidal and they seemed to have improved so gave em a try... that was with maybe 400 kills total on pump shotguns, now i've platted 870 and SPAS and almost 1 gold on Neostead, hehe. I get a lot of close to short range kills but mid and long range snipe kills are also great fun to do. Mostly catching people as they try and run across somewhere and you get to see them panic while you're pumping the shotgun for the killing shot :D

Lol. Yeah, I've been guilty of that when hit by shotgun fire. I'll have to give them another try if I can tear myself away from the lovely engineer pea-shooters.

I tend to play SQDM on mumble with a couple of friends so usually we'll be all in the same squad. To be honest it's a massive advantage and we do tend to win most rounds unless we're against a very organised clan squad.

u will level up quicker playing rush or conquest on a 24 man server, not to hectic but loads of repairs and revives to do. SQDM is only good for levelling up gold/plats on guns in my view, you get bigger bonus and awards playing the main two games

Can always try them in Vietnam (i would but for some reason the 870 uses the same stats as BC2, the only main gun that does) as the damage is even higher so a slug shotgun could probably manage 1 hit kills even at mid range. Squark can give testament to how going against Shotguns goes on a bad day :p

Aye, you don't even need to properly work together if you're on Mumble since you can at least warn each other if you notice enemies. Such a big advantage.
