u will level up quicker playing rush or conquest on a 24 man server, not to hectic but loads of repairs and revives to do. SQDM is only good for levelling up gold/plats on guns in my view, you get bigger bonus and awards playing the main two games

Yes but as I said, I'm playing to enjoy it first and foremost, not to level up by grinding in gamemodes I don't like :)

That seems perfectly reasonable to me. Not that I'd suggest it to 'grind', but have you tried out rush and conquest much at all? They can both be quite fun and the only reason I don't play them any more is due to 'falling in love' with SQDM.

I can understand your dislike for Rush but why Conquest? Sure it mostly depends on the map (24/7 Panama Canal servers ***) but unless the teams are really unbalanced its not a lot different to SQDM just with some objectives you can cap. Theres usually just as many campers ><

I did try them. I've never been a big fan of objective based games compared to straight deathmatch types. In fact I'd go so far as to say I strongly dislike them.

is anyone else just as bored of Vantage Point Rush as an attacker yet?

was on this lastnight and i lost count of all the damn grenades landing at my feet. is has to be the worst Rush map for me..

Can always try them in Vietnam (i would but for some reason the 870 uses the same stats as BC2, the only main gun that does) as the damage is even higher so a slug shotgun could probably manage 1 hit kills even at mid range. Squark can give testament to how going against Shotguns goes on a bad day :p

Aye, you don't even need to properly work together if you're on Mumble since you can at least warn each other if you notice enemies. Such a big advantage.

Didn't see this reply originally, sorry.

Can you equip slugs in Vietnam? If so, awesome. For some reason I thought you couldn't. I've been trying to practice with a sniper rifle in V as I thought it'd be useful to not completely suck with them...I've yet to see any improvement in my play with them though :)

Well yes but whats stopping you treating the objectives as not there and just wandering the map? Suppose it depends which you intend to play. After all maps like Conquest Arica Harbour use the same area as SQDM just with less base rape :p

Just went on to double check and yeah you can. I think it would be very powerful if you could ensure you were close-mid range. It seems to have a fairly large 1 hit kill range but still not enough to cover mid-long range its a 2 hit again and with the buffed up guns you don't stand a chance if they see you. Too much fighting happens at this range when you're out in the hills or in the fields and you lose any spray n pray ability for shooting at buildings. Think its M40 all the way tbh if you want to do that style.

Cool. I'll be giving shotgun slugs a try shortly I think.

I've been M40ing with recon. It's fun and the M40 feels a bit OP, but I still suck compared to how I play with other classes. Ah well, practice practice...

When do you get the magnum ammo? I don't think I've got it yet, I'm only level 9 despite putting 30 odd hours into BC2 (that would be enough to prestige in Black Ops!).

That's far too long for level 9, I've played for about 40-50 hours and am at level 30. Some tips for levelling up:

- Play as a medic, unlock medikits, constantly drop them around your teammates, and revive dead team mates with the defibs.
- Play as an engineer, repair vehicles constantly
- Play as assault, drop ammo boxes constantly around your teammates
- Play as recon, constantly throw motion sensors at enemy locations

And remember to always spot enemies, go for objectives and be in a squad. Magnum Ammo is unlocked at level 15.

More like 20 hours if you don't include the single player, I'm just going by what it says on Steam. I am nearly at level 10.

I do always spot enemies.

That would explain the time then. It should tell you on your stats page or failing that, view your 'time played' insignia's the actual time spent online.

What a great game. Loving this, but I do wish it was more like BF Vietnam. There doesn't seem to be enough variety in the maps or size - the amount of greyed out space is really a bit sad. Plus they make a big thing of the vehicles but they are hardly in any of the maps, and even when they are, there are not many of them. Getting into a chopper is a rare experience. A real shame.

20 hours :D Lucky guess. My web stats say 16 hours as they haven't updated for two days.

What don't you like?

I admit that some of the maps have bottlenecks but apart from that, I like the rest of it.

I'm not sure where I stand with it yet, If I'm honest, I'm having absolutely no luck playing well with it, and I feel the maps offer some horrendous bottlenecks where if you are in a team that isn't playing like one you simply have no chance.

However, it feels so smooth to play, frame rates are up (something I have to consider when playing with Eyefinity) and I am most definitely convinced that it is simply me that has to adapt to become more successful - so in short, 3/4 of a thumbs up to Vietnam so far (gonna play Medic for a bit, see if that helps).
