Subaru + Snow = :D

I love the snow. The Rover's handbrake is a bit pants, the snow is the only time I can get the rear wheels to lock.

I was out in an Asda car park last night having a bit of a muck about. Massive empty untouched part at the bottom of the car park with plenty of run off. Still keeping the speed relatively low but good fun learning a bit of car control.

When we had the snow last year, I lost the back end of my old Rover Coupe coming round a very tight 90º bend. I'd literally just set off from some traffic lights so certainly wasn't being foolish and trying to take the corner at a million mph. It was only my past experiences mucking about in empty carparks that taught me how to regain control of the car.

I still smile every time I think of the faces of the people in nearby cars. I'd imagine it went something like  :D

You should repost the video including the Blue Danube :)

My 182 is buried in the snow and wont be coming out again until the thaw.

That is the kind of thing that youtubedoubler.com was made for

Clicky. Probably want to mute the scooby video once it's loaded though (because it's so much louder, I'm not taking the P out of the dump valve this time)

It's a lot easier in an RWD car than a car with permanant 50/50 AWD though, surely?
My X5 will sit and do doughnuts all day long in the snow or just drift sideways depending on the position of the wheel and how quickly you put the power on. Does this mean that it has rear biased AWD?

The 4WD system in a Golf isnt proper 4WD though really, its a part-time system which only works when it senses slip, and engages the rear drive through the use of a clutch. Not sure if this would make any difference to how it donuts though :D

If you notice the incar part of the video, it will happily sit and do donuts. But what is the fun in that? I was wanting to do slow motion drifts :D
