I don't like the idea of the strips, as my teeth are pretty misshapen, and it would seem the gel and tray method would whiten all of my teeth, whereas the strips might miss bits out?

Sorry it's a bit weird asking this on a computer forum, but I don't know of anywhere else that I can post it (I don't want to post it on a forum dedicated to this sort of thing, because I'm worried of biased responses).

I need to have some fillings put in place. I had adult teeth growing on top of my baby teeth when I was younger, and it's left them in funny places (Only the back teeth). I never went to the dentists, except to have one of my molars taken out because it was in such a strange place. Meaning I've never had braces to correct my teeth lol. So you reckon I should try this stuff first, then get my fillings etc, or the other way around?
 
Without doubt go to the dentist first, once you are into a routine with checkups etc. it's not so bad.

Also;

Having teeth that actually function correctly is far more important then anything cosmetic. Perhaps when your teeth are sorted look into whitening, but first use the money to sort your mouth.
 
I can vouch for the Crest strips, as you said though it might be a problem if your teeth are uneven. I think you should be able to mould the strips to your teeth though, just make sure you work from the middle when pushing them on.
