i am looking for a cheap contract that has
upto about £15, might streatch to 20 if it is a really good deal
some internet - couple hundred mb is fine
great texting phone- doesnt give you sore hands texting
good calling phone - good sound quality
space for some apps- must be able to use Windows Live Messener
can play the DRM free itunes songs like my W995
any advice is good thanks

Couple of tips

the longer you wait the more pressure on them to get a deal out of you

get the most expensive phone they offer you (you can always sell it and buy the cheaper one they offer you)

Also have a good look around at what you can get from other providers and also online shops that sell mobile phone cotracts to give you an idea of price

Who are you with? Without wanting to sound like a broken record player, take a look at the Orange San Francisco. Can be bought for £99 then unlocked and used with any SIM only deal going.

Oh you do, you do! :p The San Fran's aren't as good (still amazing however) a buy as they once were as ROM compatibility is lacking between the OLED screens and the TFT screens. You pretty much cannot use an OLED custom rom on a TFT SF model. And also the obvious fact that the TFT screens aren't as good as the OLED's.

Oh and for my recommendations: Nokia E5 pretty much a Blackberry beater in every way apart from no BBM if that is the kind of phone you are in to. If you want an Android OS smartphone then the San Fran is pretty much the best you can get up until about £250 which would get you a Motorola Defy. Anymore expensive and you're looking at Samsung Galaxy S or HTC Desire's. (All Android powered smartphones).

Nothing wrong with the TFT screen, and as for ROM's nearly all current ROM's support the TFT model and all future ROM's will support it.

Not from what I've read on other places. Horrid compatibility and just non working OS's due to the different screen technology and drivers for said tech.

I was looking at the E5. I would like to get rid of predictive text. Also I am visually impard. Does the E5 or blackberry curve 3G have decent font size? Which font is bigger?

Visually impaired in what way? Do you use glasses?

For large fonts, most Phone OS's have options to change them, and since the SanFran has a huge resolution they will look far better on there than either of those devices.

It does depend somewhat on how willing you are to tinker with it, rooting and installing new roms and stuff...

I've never used one but I've heard good things so I'm going to throw it in here anyway: what about the Dell Streak? It's not "cheap" but as a 5" tablet everything will be larger naturally and it'll have all the same font tweaks as any other Android phone.

The standard icons/menus etc are all still a bit small on the Dell streak, if you want a large screen with big easy to read, sharp text and high contrast themes out the box? Then the HD7 is a good bet.
