I booked a delivery about 3 weeks ago to come tonight which contained the important parts of our Christmas shopping (Turkey etc). When I ordered the frozen turkey the website said it had to be delivered between the 19th and 23rd December (and the last few on the website still say that).

On Friday I checked my order to add a few things to it to see the turkey listed as 'no longer available', so I immediatly called the helpline. The rude man on the end of the phone told me that it was still coming and that it was caused be a quirk of the website. Shopping gets delivered today and no turkey (amonst other items).

I call up the number and ask what is going on with my turkey, I am told that all frozen turkeys had to be delivered before the 19th (contrary to the website) and I won't be getting one and theres nothing they can do 'bye'.

It is 4 days until christmas, the roads are covered in snow and I have to go to work and somehow try and find the time to buy a turkey for christmas which completely destroys the point of doing the christmas shopping in advance.

Thanks Tesco.

Major supermarkets are open 24 hours or get a friend / the misses to get one?

You're Christmas hasn't exactly been completely destroyed now has it, slight over reaction I think.

Need to take matters into your own hands given the weather. Pain in the rear, no doubt but it's just one of those situations.

You should do what Liam Neeson did in the film "Taken" except you're after a turkey instead of your daughter.

:D

I didn't say that Christmas was destroyed, I said the point of having the delivery was destroyed. If I now have to find the time to go shopping then I didn't need to pay to have them deliver it to me in the first place.

I also live on top of a hill that is now covered in snow, I have no chance of getting up/down it in the car until it melts.

Also the delivery wasn't affected by the snow (he turned up on time) this was apparently a mistake on the website that they didn't notify me of.

Tesco's just started to stock s-load of turkeys etc yesterday evening in preparation for todays sales, I expect they still have more to come before 25th.
So you got plenty of time to get one before then, don't go waiting until 23-24th though since they go like hot butter.
